Ingredients
For the chicken
- 4 thin-cut kosher beef cutlets (like top round)
- 1 cup potato starch
- 2 large eggs
- 1½ cups matzo meal or crushed kosher crackers
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
For Dairy-Free Gravy
- 2 tbsp frying oil (from the pan)
- 2 tbsp potato starch
- 1½ cups unsweetened coconut milk (or almond milk)
- ½ tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Chicken
- Set up a breading station: potato starch, beaten eggs, matzo meal mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dredge steaks in starch, dip in egg, then coat in matzo meal.
- Fry in 350°F oil until golden brown (3-4 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.
Sauce
- In the same pan, whisk starch into reserved oil.
- Slowly add coconut milk
- whisking until smooth and thickened.
- Season and serve over steaks.
